Chhattisgarh Encounter Naxals | Encounter between Naxalites and security forces in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh
An encounter took place between security forces and the banned Communist Party of India (Maoist) on Friday in the forests of Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. According to the information released, the incident took place around 11 am when a joint team of security personnel was out on an anti-Naxal operation today. Talking about the details of the incident, a senior officer said that at around 11 am today, an exchange of fire took place between security forces and Naxalites in a forest at the tri-junction of Usoor-Basaguda-Pamed area. A joint team of security forces arrested 19 Naxalites in separate operations
Further, it is worth noting that the current encounter comes days after security forces arrested 19 Naxalites, including three with bounties, in separate operations in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district. According to the information released, joint teams of District Reserve Guard (DRG), 219th and 150th battalions of Central Reserve Police Force and 201st battalion of CoBRA (an elite unit of CRPF) were involved in the operation.

Officials said that on Sunday, 14 Naxalites were caught in Jagargunda police station area, while five were detained in Bhejji police station area. Security forces also seized three gelatin rods, 300 grams of gunpowder, cordex wire, detonator, electrical wires and batteries from 14 Naxalites.
