A team of Anti-Corruption Bureau on Wednesday arrested the Chief Constable of Sanchore police station of Jalore district of the state red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 25 thousand from the complainant. A Bureau official gave this information.
Bureau Director General Ravi Prakash Meharda said in a statement that the accused Chief Constable Kishna Ram, posted at Sanchore police station, was harassing the complainant by demanding a bribe of Rs 50,000 in return for helping her in the case registered against her family.
He said that after verification of the complaint, the Bureau team on Wednesday arrested the accused Kishna Ram for taking a bribe amount of Rs 25 thousand from the complainant. He told that during the verification of the complaint, the accused had transferred five thousand rupees to his acquaintance’s account through Phone Pay. He said that the accused is being interrogated and action is going on against him.
