Two teenagers allegedly put firecrackers in the pocket of an eight-year-old boy, causing burn injuries in an area in East Delhi. Police gave this information on Friday. Police said that the incident took place on Thursday in Chilla village of Mayur Vihar Phase-I.
The child told the police that he was going to the market to buy toffee when two boys riding a motorcycle put some firecrackers in his pocket which exploded, an official said.
“The child is changing his statement, but we are scanning the CCTV footage of the area and have started the investigation,” the officer said. The child was taken to hospital, where his condition is said to be stable.
“We have examined the CCTV footage of the incident site and are trying to identify the suspects,” the officer said. However, the footage from the place mentioned by the child while giving information about the incident shows that he was alone. The investigation is still going on.
