CM Shinde's spectacular victory from the hot seat Kopri-Pachpakhadi Assembly, Shiv Sena defeated UBT candidate by 1,20,717 votes.
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Saturday retained the Kopri-Pachpakhadi seat by 1,20,717 votes. In the last assembly elections 2019, Eknath Shinde had won the Kopri-Pachpakhadi seat by defeating Ghasigaonkar Sanjay Pandurang of Congress. Shinde, who has tremendous influence in his home constituency Thane adjacent to Mumbai, got 1,59,060 votes with 78.4 percent share. His nearest rival, Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate Kedar Dighe, who is the nephew of Shinde’s mentor late Anand Dighe, got 38,343 votes. Shinde had led a revolt against then Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray in 2022 to split the party founded by Bal Thackeray and defected to the BJP to become the CM. Whereas the partition created bitterness between the two factions of the army. Eventually he found the party’s name and its ‘bow-and-arrow’ symbol.

After the victory, Eknath Shinde said in a joint press conference with Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar that today the public has shown which Shiv Sena of Balasaheb is. Wherever they (Congress) lose, they raise objection…is EVM correct in Jharkhand? When they win the EVMs are fine, when they lose there is a problem with the EVMs… Our government was a common man’s government, I am grateful to him for his incredible support to women, children and farmers who point to us. We want to convert the common man into superman. For me, the full form of CM is not Chief Minister but Common Man. This is a record breaking victory for Mahayuti. We are grateful to the entire Maharashtra… We have lifted all the restrictions imposed by the MVA.

NCP chief Ajit Pawar’s pain came to the fore after Mahayuti’s landslide victory in the Maharashtra Assembly elections. He said in the press conference with Devendra Fadnavis and Eknath Shinde after the election results that allegations were made against us during the Lok Sabha elections. We were shocked. We took steps and came up with some plans. He said that Ladli Bahin Yojana became a game changer.
