The national capital Delhi and NCR are suffering from air pollution these days. Air quality in Delhi remains in critical condition. Although the air quality has improved slightly. Even on Wednesday the air quality remained in the severe category. During this period, a thin blanket of smog remained in Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram and other areas of the National Capital Region.
According to the information shared by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the air pollution level is checked every day at 4 pm. During this, the average air quality index (AQI) of the last 24 hours is determined, which was 419 on Wednesday. Earlier on Tuesday its level was 444, while on Monday it had touched around 500 in the “severe plus” category. CPCB said Monday’s level was the second worst air quality level recorded since AQI tracking began in 2015,
Such was the condition of other areas of Delhi
According to CPCB, Delhi’s Anand Vihar (406), Ashok Vihar (416), Bawana (419), Dwarka Sector-8 (404), Jahangirpuri (437), Munka (416), Nehru Nagar (410) and some other places The AQI was recorded in the severe category at 6 am on Thursday, November 21.
During this period, very worrying photos and videos have emerged from different areas of Delhi. In the photo obtained from near India Gate, people are seen taking their morning walk. However, during this period a blanket of fog remained in the sky. But even after the fog, people were seen jogging on the Kartavya Path.
Revised CAQM Guidelines for Delhi-NCR
Meanwhile, the Centre’s pollution monitoring body Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) on Wednesday made changes in the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP). Under this, it has now been made mandatory to close schools in Delhi and NCR districts under Phase 3 and 4 of the scheme. Earlier, the decision to implement these measures was left to the discretion of state governments.
