Strictness on old vehicles in Delhi
Delhi government has issued instructions to confiscate old vehicles. Now there is a ban on driving old vehicles in Delhi. As per the instructions of Delhi Government, 10 year old diesel vehicles and 15 year old petrol vehicles will be confiscated. A campaign will be launched to confiscate these vehicles. According to the report of Times of India, the government has issued these guidelines on October 12. This campaign has already been run in Delhi. In August 2024, the Delhi High Court had issued orders to the government regarding the prevention of these vehicles.
Lieutenant Governor gave instructions
Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has also held a meeting. In this meeting, the Lieutenant Governor has given orders to the officials that the campaign should be started again. Even before the onset of winter in Delhi, polluters should not be able to enter Delhi. The Transport Department in Delhi has seized 213 such vehicles on Friday, October 11. This includes two-wheelers, 4-wheelers and e-rickshaws.
Fine will have to be paid for using old vehicles
Delhi government is continuously appealing to the people to replace vehicles which are 10 to 15 years old. These vehicles should not be driven. If anyone drives old vehicles, preparations have been made to charge them a fine.
