The maximum temperature in the national capital was recorded at 18 degrees Celsius, which is two degrees below the normal temperature for this season. India Meteorological Department (IMD) gave this information. The Meteorological Department said that the minimum temperature recorded in Delhi on Sunday was 13 degrees Celsius, which was six degrees more than the average temperature of this month.
The Meteorological Department has predicted dense fog in the capital on Monday. He said that the maximum and minimum temperatures in Delhi on Monday are expected to be around 18 and 6 degrees Celsius respectively. The 24-hour air quality index (AQI) in Delhi was recorded at 225 at 4 pm on Sunday, which falls in the ‘poor’ category, while the AQI in the capital on Saturday was recorded in the ‘moderate’ category.
Of the 28 monitoring stations in Delhi, Anand Vihar, Sirifort and Vivek Vihar recorded AQI of more than 300, which falls in the ‘very poor’ category. According to Sameer App, the air quality index at the remaining stations was recorded in the ‘moderate’ and ‘poor’ category.
AQI is rated between zero and 50 as ‘good’, 51 and 100 as ‘satisfactory’, 101 and 200 as ‘moderate’, 201 and 300 as ‘poor’, 301 and 400 as ‘very poor’ and 401 and 400 as ‘poor’. Between 500 is considered ‘severe’. Humidity levels in Delhi remained between 96 per cent and 91 per cent during the day.
