The Anti-Narcotics Cell of Goa Police has seized a huge consignment of drugs worth Rs 98 lakh and arrested a person in this regard. A senior official gave this information on Wednesday.
The official said that Goa Police has seized ‘LSD (Lysergic Acid Diethylamine) blot papers’. He said this was the fifth time in the last 12 days that the ANC had seized drugs. A total of drugs worth Rs 1.25 crore have been seized so far.
Police said that LSD or Lysergic Acid Diethylamide is a synthetic chemical based drug. LSD is quite popular among youth and party goers.
He said that the accused was living in Goa for the last few years, he used to buy huge consignments of drugs through “darknet” and deliver them to the people. The official said that the ANC seized 1,825 LSD blot papers on Monday night, which are worth Rs 98 lakh in the international market.
With this seizure the ANC arrested a person from village Anjuna in North Goa district. He did not reveal the identity of the accused as there could be more arrests in the case. Police said that with this arrest, ANC has busted the network of smuggling of LSD and other drugs across India.
