Kshitij Thakur of Bavia has scored a hat-trick by winning the elections thrice. However, this time this election will not be easy for them.
Efforts of all parties to woo North Indians
Nalasopara falling under Palghar district is considered to be the stronghold of North Indians, hence it is also called Mini Uttar Pradesh. Door to door campaigning for Mahayuti candidate Rajan Naik has started from here. To woo North Indian candidates, BJP organized a road show of singer-turned-MP Manoj Tiwari. Veteran leaders of the party are also holding road shows and meetings. There is a possibility of meetings of senior leader Rajnath Singh, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Women voters will play an important role
In the 2019 assembly elections, Mahayuti candidate Pradeep Sharma was defeated by 46 thousand votes. In the recently held Lok Sabha elections, Mahayuti candidate Dr. Hemant Savra got 1 lakh 36 thousand votes. After the Lok Sabha elections, the number of voters in Nalasopara constituency has increased by 41 thousand. The total number of voters in this assembly has reached 5,96,995. In this, the number of female voters is 2,75,070 and the number of male voters is 3,21,807. There are also 121 third gender voters. Women voters can play an important role this time.
Challenge of overcoming incomplete development
There are many big issues in Nalasopara city in this election, which have not been resolved for many years. The problem of traffic jam is serious here. The roads are also bad, due to which there are long traffic jams. The problem of hawkers has not been solved yet. Due to lack of market zone, hawkers are forced to occupy the streets. Nalasopara, the most congested city, has only one flyover for movement from East to West, which is quite narrow. Long queues of vehicles are always seen on this flyover.
The proposed flyovers of Alkapuri and Central Park have also not been built. Also, walking on the road has become difficult due to encroachment. Moreover, this assembly constituency with six lakh voters does not have a single government hospital with better medical facilities. However, Bavia has always been contesting elections on these issues of development.
The issue of 41 illegal buildings will become an election factor
The controversial issue of 41 illegal buildings in Nalasopara is in discussion in the entire state. About three thousand families live in these buildings, who have been voting for the last ten years. There are allegations against former Bahujan Vikas Aghadi corporator Sitaram Gupta that he occupied the reserved land and carried out illegal construction on a large scale and built 41 buildings of four storeys each. However, on a PIL, the High Court ordered the demolition of these illegal buildings. After the court order, there is a stir among the people here. However, vandalism has been banned till the elections.
