Elephant crushes man in Erode district of Tamil Nadu

Kadambur forest personnel recovered Madan’s body from the spot and it was taken to Sathyamangalam Government Hospital for post-mortem. They have registered the case and started investigation.

A 60-year-old man was crushed to death by an elephant at Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve (STR) in Erode district in Tamil Nadu. Forest officials gave this information on Friday.

Officials said that Madan, a resident of Eruthukuttai near Vaidyanathpuram in Kadambur forest area under STR, had taken his cattle to the forest for grazing on Thursday morning and left them there and returned home.

He told that in the evening he again went to the forest to bring back the cattle but suddenly a big elephant came out of the bush and attacked Madan and crushed him to death.

Kadambur forest personnel recovered Madan’s body from the spot and was taken to Sathyamangalam Government Hospital for post-mortem. They have registered the case and started investigation.
