Hyderabad Cybercrime Police has registered an FIR against the social media app, WhatsApp, Twitter and TikTok. This FIR has been registered for spreading inflammatory rumors between the two religions. Journalist Srishailam urged the police to take immediate action against all these apps. On his complaint, the cyber crime police have registered a case under various sections.
Police have issued notice to the accused and further investigation is going on. The complainant alleges that some anti-social elements are campaigning against the CAA abusing freedom of expression and linking it to the NRC process across the country.
Antisocial elements are misusing social media platforms such as Twitter, WhatsApp, TikTok, etc. and social media operators have collaborated with these elements without verifying the content that broadcasts large numbers of videos and messages.

The complainant alleges that platforms like WhatsApp, Twitter, TikTok, etc. are deliberately broadcasting objectionable videos and word material which are causing great harm to national unity and communal harmony. They allege that these objectionable material is being circulated in various languages like English, Urdu, Arabic, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi from various platforms under secret agenda.

The complainant himself is a member of several WhatsApp groups working against CAA and NRC. They allege that these WhatsApp groups are circulating extremely objectionable material, which is harmful for the country. The administrators of the WhatsApp group inspire the members to broadcast without checking the sensitivity of these materials.
