Four children died after being hit by a speeding sports utility vehicle (SUV) in Assam’s Dhubri district on Friday. A senior police officer gave this information.
Dhubri Superintendent of Police Naveen Singh told PTI that the children were walking near their home adjacent to National Highway 17 in Golakganj in the early morning when the SUV hit them.
“We have arrested the speeding SUV driver,” he said. Singh said that three children died on the spot, while another one died on the way to the hospital. The victims have been identified as Maryam Khatoon, Zaui Rehman, Abu Raihan and Mehedi Hussain.
