New Delhi. Delhi Chief Minister Atishi on Saturday attended the closing ceremony of ‘Phoolwalon Ki Sair’ at the historic Jahaz Mahal in Mehrauli and stressed on the role of this festival in maintaining the Ganga-Jamuni culture of the national capital and promoting unity in diversity. Gave. Atishi said, ‘Foolwalon Ki Sair’ is not just a festival. “This festival maintains the age-old tradition of Ganga-Jamuni culture of Delhi and spreads the message of humanity.” In this famous festival that brings together all communities, artists from all over India performed and Qawwali made the atmosphere joyful.
Addressing the gathering, Atishi shared his childhood memories in Delhi and underlined the city’s sense of togetherness. Growing up on the Delhi University campus, Atishi experienced an environment where festivals of different religions and cultures were celebrated collectively. Atishi’s parents were professors at Delhi University. “For a long time, I didn’t even know which festival belonged to which religion,” he said.

Atishi stressed the importance of promoting unity amidst divisive tendencies in the society. The Chief Minister said, “The biggest attraction of Delhi lies in its warm-hearted people, who celebrate festivals like ‘Phoolwalon Ki Sair’ as a celebration of humanity. We must cherish and preserve this spirit.” He urged politicians to focus on providing education, healthcare and employment instead of dividing people.

Atishi highlighted the efforts of the Delhi government in the last decade and highlighted achievements like quality education for underprivileged children, better health facilities and free bus travel for women. He said, “We try to serve the people of Delhi and their love and blessings are our biggest reward.”
