It is okay to have faith in technology but it is not good to have too much faith. Three people became victims of overconfidence. Google Maps is a necessity for every journey these days. People have forgotten to ask directions from anyone on the way. Now, due to overconfidence in this technology, a major accident occurred. A tragic incident took place in Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh, where a car fell into a deep gorge from an incomplete flyover, killing three people. The incident took place on Saturday when the two men, Vivek and Amit and others, were going to Bareilly from Gurugram for a wedding. They were using Google Maps for directions, which was showing the fastest route to reach the distance via the incomplete flyover.

3 people lost their lives on incomplete flyover

Three people died in Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh when their car on Google Maps wrongly took them to an under-construction bridge and the car fell into a river, police said. The incident took place on Saturday, when two of the victims, identified as Vivek and Amit, started their journey from Gurugram and were on their way to Bareilly to attend a wedding. They were relying on Google Maps to reach the venue when their GPS took them to an incomplete flyover.

The car proceeded on the bridge and fell from a height of 50 feet into a shallow river named Ramganga.

Locals found the damaged car and all three occupants dead the next morning. They informed the police, who reached the spot and took the bodies for post-mortem. Police said, “Today at 9:30 am, a damaged car was found on the Ramganga river. The police were informed and reached the spot. When the police arrived, they saw a Wagon R on the river, which was probably on hire as a taxi. The car fell on an incomplete bridge and fell into the river.”

“The bodies have been recovered and taken for post-mortem. The identity of two persons, Amit and Vivek, has been confirmed. More information is being collected to identify the third person,” police said.
