Gopal Rai should demand action against Punjab government or resign - Virendra Sachdeva
New Delhi. Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva has demanded the resignation of Minister Gopal Rai, who misled the people of Delhi to save the Aam Aadmi Party’s Punjab government on the data and reality of pollution caused by stubble burning.
Virendra Sachdeva has said that Aam Aadmi Party leader Gopal Rai has been the minister of Delhi for 10 years and has been looking after an important department like environment for the last many years, but instead of thinking about the health interests of the people of Delhi, he thinks about protecting the political interests of the Punjab government and now The time has come for him to either demand action from the Punjab government or resign.
Delhi BJP President has said that Gopal Rai, while doing petty politics, is trying to put the blame of turning Delhi into a gas chamber on Haryana, Uttar Pradesh as well as far-sighted Rajasthan, whereas the reality is that the Punjab government’s failure to stop stubble burning is a matter for the people of Delhi. is the real culprit of,

Virendra Sachdeva has said that whether we look at the figures of stubble burning in the last 24 hours, the current season or the previous years, it is clear that the state of Punjab is the biggest culprit of throwing North India into the fire of stubble pollution.
Delhi BJP President has said that in the last 24 hours i.e. yesterday on 22nd October, 71 new incidents of stubble burning took place in Punjab, only 10 in Haryana and only 17 in Uttar Pradesh.
From the current season i.e. from 15th September 2024 to tomorrow 22nd October, IARI. According to the data, there were 1581 incidents of stubble burning in Punjab, whereas only 665 fields were burnt in Haryana and 740 in Uttar Pradesh. Even contrary to Gopal Rai’s claims, 11 incidents of burning of fields have come to light in Delhi.
Statistics show that Punjab is the biggest culprit because in Punjab alone more fields were burnt than in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh combined.
Delhi BJP President said that IARI data shows that in the last year 2023, there were around 9000 incidents of stubble burning in Punjab while less than 1000 in Haryana.
Similarly, the area of burning of fields in Punjab is also increasing rapidly, in 2022, 15.43 lakh hectares of fields were burnt in Punjab, which will increase to 19 lakh hectares in 2023 and will increase further in the current year. The reality is that earlier small farmers in Punjab used to burn their fields. Since Aam Aadmi Party has come to power, the big spoiled farmers of Punjab are burning their fields under the protection of “AAP”.
Sachdeva has said that today the Honorable Supreme Court has also reprimanded the Punjab Government and asked why it is saving the farmers who burn stubble and why it is giving them exemption in fine. After this, people of Punjab want answers from Bhagwant Mann and people of Delhi want answers from Atishi Marlena and Gopal Rai.
It is clear that the negligence of the Punjab government has become an enemy of the health not only of North India but of the Punjabis of Punjab itself.
