Chief Sharad Pawar on Sunday said the ruling coalition in Maharashtra should be removed from power as it is not concerned about the suffering caused to farmers due to falling crop prices.
Addressing a rally in Gangapur in Aurangabad district, he said the prices of crops like sugarcane, soybean and jowar have fallen. Pawar said, “The farmers who satisfy the hunger of the country are worried, but the ruling parties are not worried about it.” Such people have no right to be in power. He should be ousted from power. 950 farmers have committed suicide in the last nine months. This is because they are not able to even meet their costs, due to which their debt burden is increasing.
He said that when there was NCP-Congress government in Maharashtra, farm loans worth Rs 71,000 crore were waived off. Pawar said that there is an urgent need for another loan waiver. Pawar said that but the central government does not care about it.
