Four employees died after inhaling poisonous gas at a chemical plant in Dahej in Bharuch district in Gujarat. Police gave this information on Sunday. Dahej police station inspector B.M. Patidar said that around 10 pm on Saturday night, employees of Gujarat Fluorochemicals Limited (GFL) fell unconscious due to leakage of poisonous gas from pipes in a production unit.
The four employees were admitted to a private hospital in Bharuch, of which three died around 3 am on Sunday, while another died at 6 am, the official said. He said, “The incident happened around 10 pm. Four employees fell unconscious due to gas leakage from a pipe passing through the ground floor of the company’s CMS plant. They were taken to a private hospital, where all four died. The bodies have been sent for postmortem and investigation into the incident is underway, the officer said.
