Citing 5 specific cases in the past one year, the Election Commission asked the national party with long experience to do its due diligence and avoid habitually attacking electoral conduct without any evidence. After thorough re-verification by the returning officers of all 26 assembly constituencies, the ECI wrote to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge that each stage of the electoral process in Haryana was flawless and carried out under the supervision of Congress candidates or agents. The reply of the ECI officials contains 1642 pages of evidence that authorized representatives of the Congress candidates were present at all stages, including the placing of the battery at the time of commissioning and thereafter continuously for 7-8 days till the counting was over.
The Chief Electoral Officer of Haryana also rejected all complaints of the Congress party regarding irregularities in the assembly elections. Rejecting completely extraneous talk about the performance of battery condition in EVMs, the ECI clarified that battery voltage and capacity have no relevance or connection with EVM counting operations and integrity. The display of battery status on the control unit is solely a feature to assist technical teams in monitoring power levels, thereby ensuring that the equipment functions smoothly during polling operations.
