History of Congress is full of broken promises, people of Himachal were betrayed: Anurag Thakur
Mumbai . Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Anurag Thakur accused the Congress that the party’s history is full of broken promises and the people of Himachal Pradesh are paying the price for it by bringing it to power. Anurag is present in the state to campaign for BJP for the assembly elections to be held on November 20 in Maharashtra. He urged people to vote for Mahayuti if they want to save Maharashtra. Speaking to reporters, the BJP leader mentioned the developments made by Mahayuti and said it is the only option for those who want honest governance and continuous progress.
He said the Congress had come to power with a “long list of guarantees” for the development of the citizens of Himachal Pradesh and even after several months of its rule, people were wondering when these promises would be fulfilled. Anurag Thakur said that there is not a single party which has never been betrayed by Congress. The former Union Minister said, “Congress’s history is full of broken promises and false assurances and this time Himachal Pradesh is paying the price for it.”
He said Congress had come to power in Himachal Pradesh promising subsidized electricity, financial assistance for women, cheap milk and employment generation. But after a few months of Congress rule, the people of Himachal are surprised where these promises have gone. Thakur said that Congress had assured to provide 300 units of free electricity in Himachal Pradesh, but its government also stopped BJP’s plan of providing 125 units of free electricity by imposing tax on electricity consumption.
He said the Congress manifesto had promised financial assistance of Rs 1,500 per month to women, which was claimed to benefit 23 lakh women across the state, but Thakur claimed that there was a lack of support at the grassroots level. No money has been received. “This is nothing but a cruel joke on the women who trusted him,” he said. Anurag Thakur alleged that Congress’ promise of creating five lakh jobs in the northern state has not yet been fulfilled. And these are just things written on paper.
