Terming Ayurveda as essential for a holistic lifestyle, Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud on Thursday said his association with Ayurveda began when he contracted Covid during the global pandemic and he completely followed traditional medicine and traditional medicine to recover. Addressing an international conference on progress in research and global opportunities for holistic Ayurveda organized by the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), Chandrachud said that he tried allopathic medicines when he got Covid during the second and third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. Chief Justice Chandrachud said, “I am a strong supporter of Ayurveda and holistic lifestyle. My association with AYUSH began during the COVID-19 global pandemic. “This was a time when the importance of preventive healthcare increased more than ever.”
Chandrachud said, “When I got infected with Covid-19 during the second and third wave of the pandemic, I did not take any allopathic medicine. “Instead I completely relied on Ayurvedic treatment and holistic approach, which further strengthened my belief in its healing potential.” He said that Ayurveda medicine is a traditional system, which emphasizes on the balance of body, mind and spirit.
