Jagdeep Dhankhar
Amidst the ongoing uproar in the Rajya Sabha for the past few days and the notice of the proposal by the opposition parties to remove Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar from the post, on Thursday he told the opposition parties the importance of relations. He said that if you want to hurt, then hurt the mind, not the heart. As soon as the Rajya Sabha proceedings began, Dhankhar mentioned the birthdays of senior members Sharad Pawar and BJP’s Harsh Mahajan and congratulated them on behalf of the House. While he was referring to Mahajan’s political and social life, the opposition member mentioned his links with the Congress, to which the Chairman immediately responded.
“How do you remember relationships?”
Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar said, “You forget relationships very quickly. How do you remember relationships? Understand the importance of relationships. These relationships are not ignored. These relationships are worshiped and cherished.” ” His statement was in the context of the opposition’s allegation that Chairman Dhankhar was acting like a government spokesperson to seek his next promotion and his conduct had damaged the dignity of the Rajya Sabha. Leaders of opposition parties said in a joint press conference on this issue that they have no personal opposition to Dhankhar, but this step had to be taken to protect the Constitution and democracy.
Notice to remove the Chairman
Opposition parties have given notice for the removal of the Chairman, after which the ruling BJP openly defended him. The BJP alleged that the Congress was casting aspersions on Dhankhar to divert attention from questions being raised over the party’s relationship with billionaire investor George Soros. Amidst this controversy, Harsh Mahajan’s joining BJP has also become a topic of discussion. Mahajan was earlier in Congress.
