Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) President Ghulam Nabi Azad, while replying to a question about the violence in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, on Thursday said that getting entangled in matters related to religion is harmful for the unity and integrity of the country. .
While talking to journalists in Jammu, Azad warned people about the dangers of religious polarization. In response to a question on Sambhal violence, Azad said, “It is not right to get entangled in the matter of religion.” This is not good for the unity and integrity of the country as well as the society.
Expressing concern over such an incident, he warned that it will increase division in communities and disturb peace. Four people were killed and several others, including policemen, were injured in the violence that broke out last Sunday over the survey of Shahi Jama Masjid in Kot Garvi area of Sambhal district.
The survey of the mosque was being done only after the court’s order. In response to a question regarding giving statehood to Jammu and Kashmir again, Azad said, “The demand for giving statehood has been there since the beginning.” This is nothing new.” He said that giving statehood to Jammu and Kashmir is necessary for the welfare of the people here.
