Speaking to Prabhasakshi, Barina expressed her happiness over the award, saying that it will help her move forward in the sport. He said that during the championship, in which athletes from different states participated, I learned new things and it will definitely help me in the future.

Fifteen-year-old Barina from Srinagar has won the gold medal in the REC Combined National Talent Hunt Boxing Program held in Rohtak, Haryana. Speaking to Prabhasakshi, Barina expressed her happiness over the award, saying that it will help her move forward in the sport. He said that during the championship, in which athletes from different states participated, I learned new things and it will definitely help me in the future.

Barina’s journey began in 2018 and since then, she has put in immense effort and dedication to reach this point. “My father brought me to the stadium and I have been here ever since,” he said. He said that his family has supported him throughout his journey, while his coach Farooq Ahmed Khan from the Sports Council has worked hard to hone his skills. Speaking about his career so far, he said that he has participated in many district-level tournaments till the age of 13, when he faced tough competition. According to her coach, Barina’s consistency and dedication culminated in her recent victory at the REC Combined Talent Hunt, where she won the gold medal.
