Hemant Soren, who was sworn in as Jharkhand Chief Minister, on Thursday announced that the state will take legal action to recover its Rs 1.36 lakh crore coal dues from the Centre.
Briefing the media about the decisions of the first cabinet meeting of the current government, Soren said, “Legal action will be initiated to recover Rs 1.36 lakh crore pending with the state with the Centre.” ,
However, the Chief Minister said that the decision was taken in the cabinet meeting, but no minister took oath during the day. Soren’s first official meeting after his re-election was with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi on Tuesday, where they discussed state affairs and Soren invited the Prime Minister to his swearing-in ceremony.
Soren had said in a post on X on November 2, “The Prime Minister and the Home Minister are coming to Jharkhand. I once again request him with folded hands to clear the dues (coal dues) of Rs 1.36 lakh crore of the people of the state. This amount is very important for Jharkhand.
