Karnataka High Court judge called Muslim area a mini Pakistan, Supreme Court sought response

The Supreme Court has taken suo motu cognizance of the matter of a Karnataka High Court judge calling an area a mini Pakistan. According to a Bar and Bench report, taking suo motu cognizance of the remarks made by the High Court judge, a bench of Chief Justice Chandrachud, Justice Rajiv Khanna, Justice BR Gavai, Justice Surya Kant and Justice Hrishikesh Roy has sought a report from the Registrar General of the Karnataka High Court on this.

“Our attention has been invited to the observations made by Justice V Sreesanand of the Karnataka High Court during the judicial hearing. We have sought the advice of the AG and the SG. We have asked the Registrar General of the High Court to submit a report to the Court,” the Supreme Court said while seeking a response from the Karnataka High Court.
