The Crime Branch of Mangaluru Police received information about an illegal gambling den being operated at Aranthabettu in Manjanakatte of Moodbidri, a police spokesperson said here.
He said that on the basis of this information, the police raided the gambling den and arrested seven people whose identities were Sharif (52), Satish Shetty (46), Jeevandhar (48), Sunil Kumar (43), Jagdish Acharya (43). , Manohar Salian (56) and Jairam Shetty (53).
Police have seized Rs 56,170 in cash, eight mobile phones, one car, six motorcycles, one auto rickshaw and other items from these people. The total value of the seized goods is approximately Rs 9,23,000.
The spokesperson said that a case has been registered in this regard at Moodbidri police station.
