LIC said in a communication to the stock exchange that it has received communication/demand order for Goods and Services Tax, interest and penalty for Jharkhand on October 30.
Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has received a tax demand notice of around Rs 65 crore from the tax authorities for short payment of Goods and Services Tax (GST).
LIC said on Wednesday that it also has to pay a fine and interest of Rs 6.5 crore. LIC said in a communication to the stock exchange that it has received communication/demand order for Goods and Services Tax, interest and penalty for Jharkhand on October 30. It said that this does not have any material impact on the financial position, operations or other activities of the company.
