Maharashtra Assembly Elections: BJP candidate from Murbad seat Kisan Kathore filed his nomination for the fifth time.
The process of filing nomination papers has started after various parties of Mahayuti and Mahavikas Aghadi in the state announced the names of their candidates for the assembly elections to be held in Maharashtra next month. Kisan Kathore, who contested on Bharatiya Janata Party ticket from Murbad Assembly seat, has also filed his nomination at the Election Officer’s office in Murbad tehsil in the presence of BJP National General Secretary Vinod Tawde. Before filing nomination papers, Kathore demonstrated his strength by taking out a grand rally from Badlapur to Murbad with a huge crowd of supporters.
Meanwhile, while talking to journalists, BJP national leader Vinod Tawde said that the people of Murbad assembly constituency want development. Kathore has done many development works in this area. He said that Kathore has done development work in the rural areas by successfully implementing every scheme of the Central and State Government. Therefore, the people here will make Kathore victorious in the elections with huge votes. During this time, a huge crowd of supporters was present in the rally of the BJP candidate. Many party leaders were also present in this grand rally.
Who is Kisan Kathore?
Kisan Shankar Kathore was born on 19 September 1955 in Ambernath, Thane, Maharashtra state. He was the Sarpanch of Sagaon Group Gram Panchayat (Tal-Ambernath) between 1978 and 1992. He also served as the Chairman of Thane District Council from 2002 to 2004. He switched from Nationalist Congress Party to Bharatiya Janata Party in October 2014. He contested the 2004 Maharashtra Assembly elections as an NCP candidate from Ambernath. He had defeated Shiv Sena’s senior leader and former Labor Minister Sabir Shaikh. After the delimitation of assembly constituencies in 2008, his Ambernath constituency became reserved for SCs. Hence he contested the 2009 Maharashtra Assembly elections from Murbad seat and defeated NCP rebel and four-time MLA Gotiram Pawar.
Kathore filed nomination for the fifth time
BJP leader Kisan Kathore had contested the 2004 elections from Ambernath as an NCP candidate, in which he defeated senior Shiv Sena leader Sabir Shaikh. After this, in the elections held in 2009, he contested from Murbad seat and defeated NCP rebel and 4-time MLA Gotiram Pawar. In 2014, he joined BJP and this year he won from Murbad for the third and fourth time in the 2019 elections. This time he has filed nomination for the fifth time.
Voting is to be held on 20th November
The process of filing nominations for the elections to be held for the 288-member Maharashtra Assembly has started from October 22. The last date for filing nominations is October 29 and applications can be withdrawn on November 4. It is noteworthy that elections for all 288 assembly seats of Maharashtra are to be held on 20th November next month, for which voting will be held in a single phase. After this, the votes will be counted on November 23.
