Maharashtra Assembly Elections: Rahul Kool will score a hat-trick on Daund seat or NCP's Ramesh Thorat will stop BJP's Vijayrath.
Nominations for the first phase of assembly elections in Maharashtra have been completed. Voting will be held in the state on November 13 and election results will be declared on November 23. This year’s assembly elections are going to be very interesting in view of the political turmoil of the last 5 years. Daund is the 199th assembly seat of Maharashtra. BJP has declared Rahul Subhashrao Kul as its candidate on this seat. In comparison to him, NCP Sharad has fielded Ramesh Thorat.
It is noteworthy that this is the second election contest between Rahul Subhashrao and Ramesh Thorat. Earlier in the 2019 assembly elections, BJP’s Rahul Subhashrao Kul had defeated NCP’s Ramesh Thorat in a close contest with a margin of 746 votes. Once again there is competition between the two candidates. Talking about the history of this seat, Rahul Subhash Rao is the MLA for the second consecutive time, but has won from BJP for the first time. Ramesh Thorat had won this seat as an independent in the 2009 elections.
Know the caste equation of the area
This assembly constituency is one of the 288 assembly constituencies of Maharashtra state. This is a general category assembly seat. Baramati falls in the parliamentary constituency. Talking about the caste equation, there are approximately 44,085 Scheduled Caste voters in this seat, which is 15.05% of the total voters. Whereas Scheduled Tribe voters are approximately 7,440, which is approximately 2.54% of the total voters. Apart from this, Muslim voters are about 15,818, which is about 5.4% of the total voters. The total number of voters in Daund is 292926 and the voter turnout in the 2019 assembly elections was 73.8%.
After all, who will have the upper hand?
If we look at the caste equation of Daund Assembly seat, the number of Dalit voters in this seat is about 17 percent, who are going to play an important role in the victory. Let us tell you that Sapriya Sule is the MP from Baramati parliamentary seat. In such a situation, this time the path of BJP seems difficult. The margin of victory or defeat in the last election was only 746 votes. In such a situation, it is possible that this time Ramesh Thorat will be able to close the margin of victory.
