Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) supremo Sharad Pawar addressed election rallies on Friday, which witnessed unseasonal rain.
Fadnavis addressed an election rally in Sangli while Pawar addressed an election rally in Kolhapur. Addressing a rally in Sangli in western Maharashtra, Fadnavis said that when it rains, victory is assured.
Fadnavis made this comment in the context of Pawar’s remarks made in Satara during the 2019 assembly elections. Videos of the episode, which occurred on October 18 last year, had gone viral on social media and veteran opposition leader Pawar was praised for his commitment to the people who came despite heavy rain to hear him speak. At that time the undivided NCP had won this seat.
When Fadnavis was about to start his speech for BJP’s Shirala Assembly seat candidate Satyajit Deshmukh on Friday, it started raining. A senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader said, “Now Satyajit Dada’s victory is certain.” That’s for sure because I’m holding a rally in the rain.
Pawar was addressing a rally in Ichalkaranji in Kolhapur when it started raining. Pawar said, “When I start speaking at a rally during the elections in Maharashtra, it starts raining. After that the election results remain positive.
