Jalna assembly constituency is one of the 288 assembly constituencies of Maharashtra state in western India. Jalna is part of the Jalna Lok Sabha constituency along with five other assembly constituencies. On which Congress had won in the 2019 assembly elections.
Elections were held for the first time on this assembly seat in the year 1978. After which Congress kept winning this seat till 1985, then in 1990 this seat went to Shiv Sena. After which in 1995 also Shiv Sena had won this seat. In 1999, Congress once again won the Jalna assembly seat. After this, Shiv Sena made a comeback from 2004 to 2014 and won once again. The electoral battle on this seat continues between Congress and Shiv Sena.

Muslim voters here are around 64,696, which is around 20% as per voter list analysis. According to the 2019 parliamentary election data, the total voters of Jalna Assembly are 323481.
