Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday filed his nomination for the Maharashtra Assembly elections from Nagpur South constituency. He met Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and held a road show in Nagpur before filing his nomination. He said that I express my gratitude to Prime Minister Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, party national president JP Nadda and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari for reposing confidence in me and giving me the ticket for the sixth time. I have full faith that people will bless me.

Fadnavis claimed that with the work done by the Mahayuti government, we will form the government again in the state. Our only aim is – the momentum we have given to Maharashtra is needed to bring the Mahayuti government back to power. He said that everyone has seen the development work done in Nagpur under the leadership of Nitin Gadkari. Look at our work in the last 10 years and the work done during the Congress rule, there is no need to tell us that we have transformed Nagpur.

Earlier, BJP on Sunday released the first list of 99 candidates for the Maharashtra Assembly elections. Voters in Maharashtra will vote in a single phase on November 20. Counting of votes will take place on November 23. With the current term of the 288-member Maharashtra Assembly ending in November, there is going to be a tough fight in the state between two alliances – Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), comprising Uddhav Thackeray’s Sena (UBT), NCP (Sharad Pawar) and Congress, and the Maha Yuti alliance, comprising BJP, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde) and NCP (Ajit Pawar).
