Voting is to be done tomorrow for Maharashtra elections. On Tuesday, a big controversy has arisen after BJP National General Secretary Vinod Tawde was accused of distributing cash. These allegations were made by Bahujan Vikas Aghadi (BVA) leader Hitendra Thakur. He had accused Tawde of distributing cash to woo voters at Vivanta Hotel in Virar, Palghar district of Maharashtra. Vinod Tawde has given complete clarification regarding this. At the same time, BJP has now come to the defense of Vinod Tawde.

BJP MP and national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi said that in Maharashtra, a baseless allegation has been made as a last ditch effort by the MVA. Vinod Tawde is our National Secretary and is overseeing many functions of the party. He said the constituency candidate asked him to attend the meeting. He was passing by so he agreed. Such meetings are held to instruct party workers regarding the voting process. We request that the CCTV of the hotel and surrounding areas be checked.
He clearly said that Rs 5 crore cannot be pocketed. If someone is carrying it it will be visible. They should show evidence and not make baseless allegations. Maharashtra BJP President Chandrashekhar Bawankule said that today, BJP National General Secretary, Vinod Tawde ji was meeting with local party workers in Nalasopara to explain to them the do’s and don’ts for tomorrow. At the same time, our opposition people conspired against him and tried to defame Vinod Tawde ji and BJP.

He said that the administration has taken cognizance of this incident and they are investigating the matter, as a BJP leader I would like to say that all such tactics are not going to work. The opposition has understood that they are losing the elections and that is why they are doing all these dirty acts. The Election Commission had also registered an FIR against Tawde on charges of violation of the Model Code of Conduct. However, this has no connection with the cash distribution allegations.
