Congress’s Balasaheb Thorat and Satej Patil, Shiv Sena (Ubhatha) Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Raut and Nationalist Congress Party (SP) state unit chief Jayant Patil attended the meeting.

With less than 48 hours left for the counting of Maharashtra Assembly elections, leaders of the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) held a meeting on Thursday.

Congress’s Balasaheb Thorat and Satej Patil, Shiv Sena (Ubhatha) Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Raut and Nationalist Congress Party (SP) state unit chief Jayant Patil attended the meeting.

After voting for Maharashtra elections, most of the ‘exit polls’ have predicted the victory of the ruling Mahayuti, hence this meeting assumes great significance. The grand alliance includes Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). Voting took place on Wednesday as part of the assembly elections. Counting of votes will take place on Saturday.
