In the 2019 state elections, the party had contested in 236 constituencies but could not open its account. Its vote share on the contested seats was 5.5 percent. Voting for the 288-member state assembly concluded on November 20 and the results will be declared on November 23.

These two major agencies released their ‘exit poll’ (post-election survey) data on Thursday, a day after voting in Maharashtra. Most of the exit polls that came after the voting on Wednesday evening had predicted the victory of Mahayuti. Voting took place on all 288 assembly seats of Maharashtra on Wednesday. Counting of votes will be done on November 23. In Maharashtra, there is a contest between ‘Mahayuti’, an alliance of BJP, Shiv Sena and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), an alliance of Congress, Shiv Sena (Ubatha) and Nationalist Congress Party (SP).
