Official sources have said that it has been decided to build a memorial in honor of former PM Manmohan Singh. However, it will take a few days to find a suitable place to build the monument. A government source said, “The Congress has been informed about the government’s decision to build a memorial in Manmohan Singh’s honour. But they have indulged in politics on this issue.”

The Congress Party had demanded a place for the memorial of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. The party had said on Friday that not getting a place for Manmohan Singh’s funeral and memorial was a deliberate insult to the country’s first Sikh Prime Minister.
Kharge had talked to PM Modi
Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge had demanded a place for the mausoleum of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh from the central government. Mallikarjun Kharge had also spoken to the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi on this issue and had demanded from him space for the memorial. In the letter issued by the Congress, it has been said that the last rites of Dr. Manmohan Singh should be performed at a place where his memorial can be built.

The last journey of former Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh will begin at 9.30 am on Saturday. His mortal remains will be taken from the All India Congress Committee headquarters to the cremation ground.
