Mumbai Police on Tuesday arrested an advocate from Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh, in connection with the threat to kill Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan last week. Police officials gave this information.

Raipur district Senior Superintendent of Police Santosh Singh said that Mumbai Police informed Raipur Police this morning that they have arrested Faizan Khan from Pandari police station area here as part of their investigation related to the threatening call to Shahrukh Khan.

Singh said that according to preliminary information, the threatening call to Shahrukh Khan was made from a phone number registered in the name of Faizan. Mumbai Police had visited Raipur on November 7 during the investigation of the case and called Faizan Khan for questioning.

He said that during interrogation, Faizan had told the police that his phone was lost and he had lodged a complaint in this regard at the Khamardih police station here on November 2. Singh said that Mumbai Police will present Faizan in a Raipur court and seek transit remand.
