Former Maharashtra minister and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Baba Siddiqui died after being shot by attackers in Mumbai. He was taken to Lilavati Hospital after being shot in the stomach and chest. He succumbed to his injuries. Police have detained three people in connection with the attack. Siddiqui was leaving his office in Nirmal Nagar area and was sitting in his car when the attack took place. As soon as he sat inside the vehicle, suddenly firecrackers went off, causing the attackers to hide and open fire on them.
