Gopal Rai said that BJP’s environment minister is sleeping despite Delhi government’s repeated requests to call an emergency meeting regarding the serious pollution situation. He said that he once again requests the Union Environment Minister to call an emergency meeting on pollution and allow artificial rain. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should intervene, it is his moral responsibility to take action and the Center should take steps to control pollution.

Gopal Rai said that ‘GRAP’ should be implemented across North India, adding that the rules are being violated in BJP ruled states. He said that we are working continuously. We have banned BS-III petrol four-wheelers, BS-IV diesel vehicles. All trucks and diesel buses coming from outside have been banned. Schools have also been closed for classes 10th and 12th. Third, timings for offices have been staggered. As far as work from home is concerned, we are working on that also. A decision will be taken soon. We will also implement it.

We are demanding an emergency meeting with the Union Environment Minister so that we can take all action on the ground. He said that the entire North India is in the grip of medical emergency.
