MT Vasudevan Nair passes away: Famous Malayalam writer and Jnanpith awardee MT Vasudevan Nair passed away on Wednesday. He was 91 years old. Sources related to the hospital gave this information.
“MT passed away,” a hospital source told PTI.
He was being treated for more than a month due to the illness. He was admitted to hospital on 16 December following respiratory complications. He died at a private hospital here at 10 pm on Wednesday night.
A team of doctors, including cardiologists and intensive care specialists, were treating him at the hospital.
His last rites will be held on Thursday at 5 pm at Mavoor Road cremation ground.
Nair, popularly known as ‘MT’, wrote nine novels, 19 short story collections and 54 screenplays in a career spanning seven decades. He also directed six films.
