In 1929 he returned to the country and participated in the country’s independence. When big leaders like Mahatma Gandhi went to jail, JP took over, but he was also jailed. However, everyone’s hard work paid off and the country became independent.

Through the social revolution included in JP’s complete revolution, he worked to eliminate casteism from the society. On his request, 10 lakh people broke their sacred thread and decided that they would not accept the caste system. The impact of his movement is visible even today. Atal Bihari Vajpayee had also written a poem for JP, in which he had apologized to Mahatma Gandhi because he could not fulfill the promise given to him and the destination remained incomplete. Along with this, he had assured JP that broken dreams will be joined together and darkness will be removed.
