The body of Intelligence Bureau officer Ankit Sharma was found on Wednesday in Chandbagh area of Delhi amidst the violence against the CAA. Sharma was on training in the Intelligence Bureau. While returning home, the stone-pelting crowd came under attack in Chandbagh itself.
The mob was beaten to death near the Chandbagh bridge. His body was found in the drain of Chandbagh. The family was searching for him since Tuesday evening. Sharma joined the Intelligence Bureau in 2017 and was completing his training as a security assistant. He was staying with the family in Khajuri Khas area.
Chandbagh is one of the violence-hit areas of Delhi where violence between anti-CAA and CAA supporters is tense. So far 21 people have died in Delhi and more than 200 people have been injured.
After the body was recovered, Ankit’s father Ravindra Sharma accused the Aam Aadmi Party leader of killing Ankit. He told the police that Ankit was first beaten and after Shot him. The dead body has been sent for postmortem. Ravindra Sharma is also working in the Intelligence Bureau.
