What is One Country One Election Bill?

Citing the recommendations of the high-level committee, sources said that there is a proposal to amend Article 82A by adding sub-section (1) related to the due date in the bill. There will also be a proposal to include sub-section (2) in Article 82A related to the termination of the tenure of the Lok Sabha and State Legislative Assemblies. It is also proposed to amend Article 83(2) and insert new sub-sections (3) and (4) related to the tenure of the Lok Sabha and its dissolution. It also has provisions relating to dissolution of assemblies and amendment of Article 327 to insert the words “simultaneous elections”.
