A person was shot dead by three unidentified persons late Tuesday evening in Bhuta police station area of Bareilly district. A senior police officer gave this information.
Police suspect that the farmer was murdered due to old enmity. According to the police, the incident took place on Bisalpur Road, when Pushpendra alias Pushpal (40), a resident of Kharda, was riding a bike when three unidentified persons riding a motorcycle shot him.
Police reached the spot and took injured Pushpendra to Bareilly for treatment, where he was declared dead. Bareilly Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anurag Arya, after visiting the spot, said that investigation has been started and the police will arrest the accused soon and take strict action.
Arya said that very strict action will be ensured against the accused. He expressed suspicion that this murder was done due to old rivalry. SSP said that the accused who are suspected to be of criminal nature and their hideouts are being raided.
