More than 280 people were evacuated to safety after tremors and “explosion-like” sounds were heard in Annakallu area of ​​Malappuram district in Kerala. Police said on Wednesday that 287 people from 85 families were taken to a school building late on Tuesday night.

People heard the first sound of shaking at 9:15 pm and then heard the sound at 10:15 pm and 10:45 pm. The sound was reportedly heard within a radius of two kilometers, causing panic among local residents, police said.
