A Pakistani family living illegally in Bengaluru with the identity of ‘Sharma family’ has been arrested. Rashid Ali Siddiqui from Karachi, Pakistan was living in Bengaluru with his wife and in-laws as ‘Shankar Sharma’. Police said that suspect Rashid Ali Siddiqui, his wife Ayesha, his father Hanif Mohammed and mother Rubina were living as Sharma family in Rajpura village of Bengaluru Outer. They named themselves Shankar Sharma, Asha Rani, Ram Babu Sharma and Rani Sharma.

The entire family was engaged in conversion

He was also engaged in converting nearby Hindus to Islam, for this he used to get funding from Pakistan. Besides, many local Muslims living in Bengaluru were also helping him, then suddenly a mistake happened and after 10 years his whole story was exposed. Police have registered a case against all four and arrested them.

According to media reports, based on intelligence input, 2 Pakistanis were arrested from Chennai Airport. He reached Chennai by taking Dhaka flight. During interrogation, he claimed to be an Indian but when his passport was checked, it was found to be fake. After this, when they were interrogated, it was found that a Pakistani family, which was secretly living in Bengaluru, was living there with the identity of a Hindu family.

The family was planning to run away

On Sunday, when the police arrived for arrest, the Siddiqui family was still packing. During interrogation, he identified himself as Sharma and said that they were living in Bengaluru since 2018. During the investigation, Indian passports and Aadhar cards of the family were also produced which recorded their Hindu identity. When the police reached inside the house, they found Mehndi Foundation International Jashn-e-Yunus written on the wall. There were also photographs of some clerics in the house.

The wedding took place in Dhaka

According to preliminary investigation, Rashid Siddiqui’s wife is from Bangladesh and earlier they were in Dhaka, where they were married. The couple reportedly came to Delhi in 2014 and later moved to Bengaluru in 2018. The other two arrested are his in-laws. He was taken into custody after a raid in Jigani on the outskirts of Bengaluru on Sunday.

Now police is scanning the network

A senior police officer said, “Our Jigani inspector investigated it and registered a case. Four people of a family were staying here illegally on the basis of fake documents. Now a case has been registered and those four people “We are being interrogated. We will take further action based on the outcome of the inquiry.” He told that he was living in a rented house in Jigani. They have got identity cards made in fake names. Police are interrogating the arrested person about his network and activities. (with language inputs)
