Passengers are going to have fun! Vande Bharat will see the beautiful valleys of Kashmir in the new year.
Indian Railways is all set to launch its first Vande Bharat sleeper train, which will connect New Delhi with Srinagar via the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL). This train, which will provide modern facilities and better travel convenience, will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of Republic Day celebrations on January 26, 2025. This semi-high-speed train will be the first direct rail service between the national capital and Kashmir, covering the distance of over 800 kilometers in less than 13 hours.

Departing New Delhi at 7:00 pm, it will reach Srinagar at 8:00 am the next day with major stoppages at Jammu Tawi, Katra and Banihal. This service will provide direct rail connectivity between New Delhi and Kashmir Valley for the first time. Built by BEML, the Vande Bharat sleeper train is designed for long distance and overnight journeys. The prototype of the train was unveiled by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav in September 2024.

According to the information, there will be different types of coaches in Delhi-Srinagar-New Delhi Vande Bharat Sleeper train. It consists of 11 AC 3-tier coaches, 4 AC 2-tier coaches and 1 First AC coach. There is much speculation regarding ticket prices for this service. Rs 2000 for 3A (AC 3-tier), Rs 2500 for 2A (AC 2-tier) and Rs 3000 for 1A (First AC). The launch of Vande Bharat Sleeper Train is an important step towards enhancing connectivity, promoting tourism and strengthening economic ties between Kashmir and the rest of India. The service promises a seamless and efficient travel experience, reflecting Indian Railways’ commitment towards modernisation.
