PM Modi inaugurated RJ Shankara Eye Hospital in Varanasi, also visited the exhibition organized
Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived on a one-day visit to his parliamentary constituency Varanasi on Sunday. After reaching here, he first inaugurated RJ Shankara Eye Hospital. After this he also visited the exhibition organized here. After this he went and met Shankaracharya of Kanchi. During this, many dignitaries including Governor Anandiben Patel and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath were present.
According to people associated with the organization, this eye hospital has been targeted to provide facilities to the patients of 20 districts of Eastern Uttar Pradesh as well as the border areas of Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh. This is the 14th hospital in the country run by Kanchi Math. According to the people of the organization, a target has been set to provide free eye operations to 30 thousand patients here every year.

Earlier, the Prime Minister arrived at the Lal Bahadur Shastri Airport here and was welcomed by dignitaries including Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The people of Kashi welcomed Prime Minister Modi with drums and shower of flowers.
The Prime Minister will launch various development projects worth more than Rs 6,100 crore during his visit. This includes several airport related projects. According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the extension of the ‘runway’ of Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport, construction of a new terminal building and associated works, which is expected to cost approximately Rs 2,870 crore.

The statement said that the Prime Minister will also pay tribute to the airports at Agra Airport to be constructed at a cost of over Rs 570 crore, Darbhanga Airport to be constructed at a cost of approximately Rs 910 crore and Bagdogra Airport to be constructed at a cost of approximately Rs 1550 crore. Will also lay the foundation stone of the new civil enclave. The Prime Minister will inaugurate the new terminal buildings of the airports at Rewa, Ambikapur and Saharanpur being built at a cost of more than Rs 220 crore. With this, the combined passenger capacity of these airports will exceed 2.3 crore annually.
