Political Party: How father Balasaheb's legacy slipped from Uddhav Thackeray's hands, the party was established 58 years ago
Since the year 2022, there has been a lot of political turmoil in Maharashtra. Because Eknath Shinde, who was once considered very close to Uddhav Thackeray, started a rebellion with 39 MLAs. At the same time, the Supreme Court also declared the Eknath Shinde faction as the real Shiv Sena instead of the Uddhav faction. In this way Uddhav Thackeray faction got the name Shiv Sena UBT. The original Shiv Sena, formed as a result of the Maharashtra political crisis, split into two separate factions. Just as Uddhav lost power, he also lost his father’s legacy.
However, Uddhav Thackeray did not bow down and did not break. He understood, gathered and managed the scattered things. During the election campaign, Uddhav kept working on the decided strategy and on the other hand, his son Aditya Thackeray took the lead. In recent times, Uddhav Thackeray presented his image not as a fanatic but as a soft Hindutva and the public liked his change very much.

Formation of Shiv Sena
Let us tell you that Shiv Sena was established 58 years ago in the year 1966. This party’s own threat can be seen in Maharashtra. This party was started to fight for the rights of the Maratha people, which later became a political party. It was founded by Balasaheb Thackeray. His father gave the name to the party formed by Balasaheb Thackeray. Shiv Sena means the army of Shivaji Maharaj. Whereas Bal Thackeray’s ideology remained staunch Hindutva. Along with this, Uddhav Thackeray also held the post of CM of the state.
In the 90s, polarization was at its peak in the state due to the temple movement and communal movement. Which directly benefited Shiv Sena alliance. In the year 1995, for the first time in the state, Shiv Sena formed a government in alliance. In the year 2003, Uddhav Thackeray was made the working president of the party. In the year 2005, Shiv Sena suffered a major setback and veteran party leader Narayan Rane left the party. After the death of Balasaheb Thackeray, Uddhav Thackeray took over the party.
Then in the year 2022, 50 MLAs rebelled under the leadership of Shiv Sena and Eknath Shinde, a leader close to Uddhav. After which Eknath Shinde became the CM of Maharashtra and Uddhav had to resign from his post. However, after the split of the party, a dispute broke out between the two factions regarding the name and symbol of the party. In which Uddhav Thackeray lost his father’s legacy and the other faction got the status of real Shiv Sena.
