The police have received sanction from the Maharashtra government to prosecute Sassoon Hospital employees Dr Ajay Tawde, Dr Srihari Halnor and Atul Ghatkamble in the case of a Porsche car accident on May 19 in Pune.
This information was given to a local court on Thursday. Here in Kalyan Nagar on May 19, two IT professionals from Madhya Pradesh who were riding a bike were killed in a collision with a speeding Porsche car.
The car was allegedly being driven by a minor boy under the influence of alcohol. Tawde, Halnor and Ghatkamble are also accused of being involved in invalidating the alcohol test of the 17-year-old accused by swapping his blood samples.
Special public prosecutor Shishir Hiray said, “We told the court today that the police have received the state government’s sanction to prosecute Tawde, Halnor and Ghatkamble in the case. Such approval is mandatory for prosecuting or framing charges against government employees.” Along with Tawde, Halnor, Ghatkamble, the minor’s parents and two middlemen are in jail in this case.
